The Solar Boys Makerspace is collaborative work space that teaches scholars to explore and create through a hands on learning approach.  If you look in our Makerspace you may see scholars participating in 3D printing, robotics, lego creations, and so much more.  In this class students learn to use a variety of materials such as 3D printers, vinyl cutters, video camera and audio equipment to legos, cardboard and power tools.

No matter what tools they are working with that day, each day is focused on teaching the critical 21st century skills STEAM skills.  Our lessons are focused on affective objectives such as collaboration, feedback, resolving conflict and self-direction. Through these skills scholars develop critical thinking skills and confidence.
